Northern Ireland – James

James Seymour

Hello, I am James Seymour. I was named after my grandfather who unfortunately was murdered by the IRA during the troubles in Northern Ireland. Unfortunately, I never got to meet him.

For 1000's of people across Northern Ireland, the losses of the troubles will forever be a dark cloud over our country's short history, with each loss demonstrating the need for peace throughout the world.

Events such as Dignity Beyond Borders are significant and beautiful reminders that the world is full of special people, those who share a common loss and understand the pain and suffering that is involved in such a passing. I firmly believe that worldwide peacebuilding should always be the goal, there is no better way to do this than a project like DBB.

The way I see it is, whether 40 or 400 people attend such a project, it has been proven to have a lasting positive impact and influence not just on their lives but the lives of many who hear of the hope and peacebuilding that can be generated from a devastating loss. My hope is that by writing my story, I and many others can demonstrate the necessity and importance of such projects.
