Mothers for Dignity
Mothers for Dignity is a healing and connection program for parents who have lost children to mass violence.
Dignity Beyond Borders will be holding an in-person retreat at the renowned Kripalu Center in Lenox, Massachusetts from November 10-13, 2024
For further information and registration, please email Kathy@dignitybeyondborders.org.
This four-day retreat provides a safe and supportive space for mothers, who have experienced the unimaginable loss of a child in a mass violence event, to come together to navigate their grief and find solace in shared experiences. Participants make connections, learn ways to navigate the challenges and discover resources that aid in coping and healing. Meals and accommodations are provided by Dignity Beyond Borders.
Through therapeutic group discussions, and art therapy exercises, participants are empowered to honor their lost children, find comfort in the support of each other, cultivate resilience, and discover pathways to healing.
Guided by trained facilitators, Mothers for Dignity offers practical tools and compassionate guidance as these mothers journey towards hope and healing. The strength and support that women can offer each other is a powerful resource to restore dignity in the face of traumatic loss.
Program Objectives:
Provide a safe space for women to share losses
Create a community of women to offset isolation
Open up strategies for coping with the impact of loss
